Being a star of Instagram, an artist explores self-identity as a woman and questions sexualised women’s bodies, her medium being her body and online representation. after her academic paper An Aesthetics of Rat Bites where she studied and documented rat bites in South Africa she starts her latest body of work called this country is lonely.

Its a film about the intimate process of an artists journey in turning the camera on herself once again. she states at one point in the film “I am fascinated with how the broken and displaced body becomes a fertile ground of beauty”. it is said that being online isn’t real or an abnormality and so she sets out to weigh in on this debate in an obsessive …way… to experiencing something real, not just as a comment on the digital world but also as a woman alone within this room in this particular country. when we meet her in this room she becomes her own experiment, giving herself over to the chaos that surrounds her … documenting herself,

The film is not only an study in the dehumanising aspects of the digital platforms in self representation in the 21st century but also as a comment on the reverse camouflage of decolonisation.
