Meet the iconic screen Holmes of the silent era, presented in the dramatic Victorian setting of Alexandra Palace. In the BFI National Archive’s new restoration of Stoll’s epic series, we present three episodes from The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes. Conan Doyle himself was ‘amazed’ by Norwood’s ‘wonderful impersonation of Holmes’. Joanna MacGregor conducts a live ensemble of ten players, in partnership with the Royal Academy of Music.
