While batteries, screens and other electronic components get smaller and smaller, lenses have not done their part. Now, with a material science approach, scientists have created tiny meta-material lenses. Researchers have created a new type of lens that is lighter, smaller and much cheaper than any other lenses used for microscopy today. Only millimeters in size, this lens uses specially arranged towers of titanium about 600 nanometers long to focus light.
