Kelly Reichardt's attentive and patient camera films the sculptor Lizzy – played by Michelle Williams – and her daily life in the lead-up to her opening at a Portland gallery. We participate in a complex and ambivalent reflection on the process of artistic creation, from which emerge as many nameless frustrations as moments of intense ecstasy.
