First, a fragmented portrait of a musician who left his country house at the age of 20. The documentary is built from childhood stories told by his mother and the images that make up his two lives — the personal one and the one on stage. Second, she no longer speaks, no longer walks; we don’t know what she thinks or what she remembers. The film establishes a dialogue between the new image of the mother and the images and music of her son to rebuild that portrait and uncover what survives distance and oblivion.
