Sensing the Superject is an in-development animated short that follows one moment of consciousness as it begins, transforms, and becomes memory. The story unfolds through shifting wavelengths of color based on models of neural oscillation. Gold, blue, violet, and magenta colors shift with her movement through sleep, imagery, attention, and heightened presence. The film draws from cognitive science, embodied cognition, and process philosophy to create a visual account of how an actual occasion becomes real. My research drawings appear in the Field Notes.
