The film reconstructs the trial from The Hunchback of Notre Dame by Victor Hugo from a fresh perspective — that of a minor character, the goat. The goats trial in the novel’s postscript is expanded, interweaving actual 15th‑century animal‑witch trial transcripts with video effects on 16 mm black‑and‑white imagery, creating a found‑footage aesthetic where the goat’s aural world and the distorted courtroom rantings drive the tragic narrative.
