This video essay reuses and reworks excerpts from Roberto Rossellini's film "Journey to Italy" (1953) as well as archive footage linked with the Italian Grand Tour from early 900's. It highlights the confrontation between Ingrid Bergman's gaze and the stolen gazes of Neapolitans she meets on her way, captured on the fly in the streets of Naples. Such documentary fragments give shape to an experience of Otherness which is at the core of the film.
