The film explores the tragic final days of Paul O’Toole, who died on the streets of Burlington, Vermont on December 17 2011, having lost everything after a generous trust, heavy drinking and opiate abuse, and an earlier death of his wife. Based on a poem by Jim Ellefson (“In Dreams Paul Returns to Tell Us What It’s Like.”), the film weaves memory, addiction, loss, and the margins of society.
