Pound is a darkly comic allegory in which human actors portray eighteen dogs (as well as a Siamese cat and a penguin) confined in a city pound, awaiting adoption or euthanasia. Through absurdist routines, flashbacks, fantasies, and conversations, the animals reflect on identity, mortality, and the absurdity of existence.
