Hannah Arendt advised him to become a border crosser. Werner Heisenberg appointed him as his successor. The father of the hydrogen bomb, Edward Teller, was his doctoral supervisor; he argued with him for the rest of his life. Nobel Peace Prize winner Josef Rotblat brought him to his famous Pugwash conference table, which received the Nobel Peace Prize.
The astrophysicist Hans-Peter Dürr was an agile thinker and an encourager. He doubted the existence of matter and always focused on relationships, on the in-between - between particles, between trees, between people, between world powers. He cast his net around the globe and became involved. For this he received the Alternative Nobel Prize. The Potsdam Manifesto, which calls for peace with the earth, appears like his testament.
Claus Biegert follows the life of the unusual scientist in dialogue with the American Sue Durham from Berkeley, who became Hans-Peter's wife and taught him to dance.
