Driven by a desire for emancipation, indigenous communities float down Argentina’s rivers on rafts made out of mud and plastic bottles, alarming the coastal authorities in their wake. On the bicentenary of the May Revolution of 1810, Lucrecia Martel offers a politically engaged reinterpretation of Sarmiento’s utopian novel Argirópolis.
