Annie leaves Montreal in a hurry with her two children, bound for the USA. There is obvious tension between the mother and her teenage daughter, Sarah. Since the latter revealed that she had seriously injured the girl who had been stalking her, Annie makes the foolhardy decision to flee the possible repercussions. After their car breaks down near a tiny village in the Adirondacks, the family finds itself stuck there, awaiting repairs that won't be made until the following week. Much to Annie's chagrin, Paul, a single father and the only mechanic in town, has no intention of working over the weekend. But Annie's stubborn insistence on leaving at all costs leads to a corrosive and unexpected duality between her and Paul. Will it bring down the masks and eventually reveal the true intentions of these two souls on the run?
