Akio Akabane, salesman at a major real estate company, is a depressed middle-aged man who boasts of his past glory as a top salesman, but his management style is mostly bullying, harassment and sexism. He is seconded to a matchmaking agency, "Toi et Moi," run by Yui Tokita, who succeeded her mother, a skilled matchmaker. Akabane assumes there is no difference between selling property and picking marriage partners, but soon gets bogged down by prospects with their own unique traits, like one who can never get beyond a 3rd date, or another who has set a deadline to get married, no matter who to. Yui is fully committed, but she lacks confidence. Their differing values first cause clashes, but as they compensate for and balance out each other’s shortcomings, they begin to create small miracles.
