Nai no Do is a narrative film situated on the coastline of Kochi, Japan, an area threatened by the predicted Nankai Trough earthquake and tsunami. Set in 2056, the film imagines a pilgrimage that develops from the walk of the Guardians, researchers who have been walking and recording Kochi's landscapes, objects, and living archives at risk of becoming future debris since 2026. Narrated by future pilgrims recalling their journeys, the film moves through existing landscapes and imagined architectural interventions along the coastline. Rendered entirely using 3D Gaussian Splats, it creates fragmented digital environments through which the project explores memory, disaster, and disappearance.
