Guillermo Gómez-Peña has invited film and video-maker colleagues from around the world to re-envision his own performance works through a collaborative editing process. Gómez-Peña captures the zeitgeist of a ravenous and distorted world, illustrating its inequalities with a straightforward rawness and elegance. As a collaboration, the Graffitis speak to the cultural revolution wrought by technology and globalization; they may be as meaningful to our post-NAFTA generation today as those one-reel travelogues were to the workers filmed leaving the Lumiere Brothers' factory in 1895, embarking on a new century and a new world under the watchful eye of the ubiquitous camera lens.
