Immaterial Terrain was filmed on a ten kilometer stretch along the east coast of Great Britain, between the Sizewell nuclear power station and the legendary sunken town of Dunwich. For a year, Richardson regularly traveled this stretch of coastline, camera in hand. These walks – both pilgrimages and demonstrations – constitute the formal structure of a film which documents a landscape that is both singular and fragile, in a time of uncertainty.
Immaterial Terrain is accompanied by a series of three podcasts.
