Helix incorporates figurative movement, time displacement, and psychological space on a physical and molecular level. With the pace of technology increasing at an incredible rate, we believe it is vital to celebrate "the slow," nature, and ultimately reconnect our bodies, minds, and energies to our original natural habitat, the outdoors. Dance is an incredible conduit for reunification and connectedness to our home. We unapologetically celebrate earth's beauty with video as a means to honor its power.
It is part of the Ribbon Series 1-6 (2018), a selection of six video pieces that explore variations of time and space within the construct of a young dancer's journey through ethereal and psychological landscapes. Each individual work functions similar to a dream state as they appear to begin at an arbitrary time and place and end abruptly.
