Fossil Lights is a video composed from archival photographs of a particle physics experiment conducted in the 1980s using the BEBC bubble chamber at CERN.
By animating these scientific images, the film reawakens a time when the invisible was made visible through the luminous trails of passing subatomic particles.
Born from a collaboration between artist Nicolas Darrot and physicist Olivier Dadoun, Fossil Lights offers a hypnotic journey between science and visual poetry.
Created for the exhibition Chambre à brouillard, curated by Olivier Dadoun in autumn 2023 at L’ahah.
