All life on Earth is experiencing the impact of ecological degradation, making environmental education more critical than ever. Beyond raising awareness about the issues, our strategy at Green Our Planet is to cultivate students' connection to the natural world through school gardens and hydroponics programs at a young age so they want to conserve it. To amplify students' learning experience in their garden or hydroponics ecosystem, we provide video lessons through the Green Our Planet Virtual Academy, like the film in this project.
"Exploring Adaptations in Africa With Farmer Joe!" is an entertaining and educational film, a part of the Virtual Academy's environmentally-themed STEM series. This collection aims to help teachers engage students in STEM while sparking curiosity and care for the one planet we have to call home. Farmer Joe starts by looking at all of the bizarre characteristics of some of the animals we see on Earth. But why do animals even have these peculiar shapes and colors? To answer this question, Farmer Joe takes the audience on an adventure to Africa to investigate how the African environment and climate have shaped animal characteristics throughout their evolutionary history!
