Days before heading to Guam to further his research on invasive snakes, Floridian biologist Ellis Finn is crushed when his girlfriend rejects his marriage proposal. Discouraged, he decides that love should be pursued as practically as science. He just needs the right variables to make the equation work.
Once on Guam, a culture-shocked Ellis treks into the spider infested jungle with his new research teammates. But when he becomes separated from them, snake hunting, machete wielding Monaeka comes to his rescue. Ellis learns that Monaeka is an impressive researcher whose work is dedicated to eliminating the invasive brown tree snakes that are changing the island’s ecosystem. The two bond over her latest project: attaching parachutes to dead, Tylenol-stuffed mice which serve as deadly snake bait in the jungle. Their relationship blossoms until Ellis discovers that Monaeka has a daughter, a revelation that doesn’t fit into his love equation.

In the snake filled jungles of Guam where parachuting mice rain from the sky, Ellis must ask himself a question that could change his life: can love be approached as practically as science or is it as unpredictable as the brown tree snakes he studies?
