Filmed in the Arctic, Eventual Horizon threads together the artist’s experience of insomnia, grief, and hope. This viscerally engaging film draws a parallel between mourning a loved one and experiencing ecological grief. Perceiving grief as an active element of hope, Eventual Horizon focuses on the transformative and healing power of these states. The film’s immersive soundscape is created from Arctic field recordings, capturing the sound of ice melting through a hydrophone and the vibrations emitted by ice and snow using a geophone.
