Dick and Jane go to the Emergency Room. It’s a Saturday night in Milwaukee. A 4 ½ minute, single image photofilm that is seemingly straightforward but with a hallucinatory edge. Powered by a “heavy metal” soundtrack that listens intently to all the sounds, mechanical and human, in this seemingly empty but densely inhabited space, ER is a visceral study in boredom, fascination, and fear.
