Dough is a short, surreal video in which a group of women labor in cramped factory-like rooms, pulling and kneading a long rope of dough through a bizarre chain of compartments. At the center, one woman’s tears create steam that causes the dough to rise, transforming bodily processes into an absurd industrial system. The work blurs the line between flesh and product, using humor and claustrophobic imagery to explore labor, gender, and the commodification of the body.
