13-year-old Lola discovers a mysterious sea creature in her new seaside hometown. Their day spent together at the fun fair reveals questions of belonging. This fictional animated story, created collaboratively with secondary school students from an English as an Additional Language (EAL) program in London, is narrated with documentary recordings from interviews with Lola and her peers. Together, the animation and audio tell a tender coming of age story about migrating to London from Mexico and the ambiguous grief of family separation in this context.
