The anaesthetist demonstrates how to make the mask using layers of gauze or how to customise gamgee (thick wadding) for the same purpose. He then proceeds to anaesthetise a patient using chloroform. Using intertitles, it is suggested that continuation (of anaesthesia) should be via the Junker method.
