Cellular Reconstruction explores technology and its effects on the future by re-animating the past. It begins from an old education film which has lost its cyan layer to time, attempting to revive it with modern technology. But of course like most technological cures, it is shortsighted and goes terribly wrong.

Technically it uses an array of machines, from laserjet printers that try to reproduce the lost cyan layer of the film, pen plotters to redraw the flowers, and vinyl cutters for the etching process. Much of my work involves technology processes I’ve created myself, but my work is skeptical of technology as a whole. Cellular Reconstruction is born in that ambivalence.
