In her film Birth, Erica menstruates and paints, living in an immersive world of her own creation. It is through the connection of these two things– her menstruating body and her devotion to her art that she is able to alchemize the creation from her paintings off the paper and into reality. Birth was filmed by Erica Schreiner on her VHS camera in her apartment.
