Ada juggles two worlds she can’t really keep separate: her daily reality as a library assistant and the grand future she imagines for herself and for humanity. After being fired, Ada returns to the library to work on job applications–it’s a public space, after all. When the same AI tools that help her update her resume leave her discouraged about AI replacing jobs for people like her, Ada imagines a future where she can steer the future of AI instead of getting left behind--and get some revenge on her old boss while she's at it.
