Bad TV (1986) is an experimental live performance‑video hybrid that consciously “tries every mistake” possible in conventional broadcast television. It is presented as a continuous, unedited single take, incorporating deliberate glitches: sudden lens filter changes, abrupt lighting shifts, crane‑like camera moves (via ladder), and other performative breakdowns. The live performance (with dancer/performer Nina Barlow) is staged in front of an audience who simultaneously watch both the live action and a video monitor showing a disentangled “other version.”
