In the animation “A MONSTER I CREATED NAMED REBOUNCE,” I explore time as instant moments and prolonged durations, drawing on psychological and neuroscientific ideas of time perception. Through exploring these different categorizations of time, I believe a monstrous force driving forward is essential; it breaks free from all kinds of temporal frames and embodies a force of hope for the future. Using photography, animation, multi-channel sound, and the deformation of liquids through natural fluid movement, my work invites the audience to experience the tension between moments and duration, encouraging them to have the power to walk away from ruminations.
