Emily Cohen Ibañez (Director/Producer, Writer, Cinematographer) is a Colombian-American/Syrian-Jewish filmmaker based in Oakland who earned her doctorate in Anthropology (2011) with an emphasis in Science Studies and Culture and Media at New York University. Her film work pairs lyricism with social activism, advocating for labor and environmental justice. Her award-winning feature documentary, FRUITS OF LABOR had its World Premiere at SXSW 2021 and broadcast on PBS POV | American Documentary. Her short film, SOL IN THE GARDEN, co-directed with Débora Souza Silva had its World Premiere at San Francisco International Film Festival (2023) with distribution from TIME Studios.
