About

Ye Feng developed an interest for filmmaking when he began experimenting with video editing softwares and edited videos for school projects and created videos for inter-school competitions in Secondary School as part of his CCA. He then went to pursue Film, Sound & Video at Ngee Ann Polytechnic, and co-founded a video production company after completing his National Service. His film, When the Power Goes Out, was shortlisted for 9 categories, including Best Film, and Best Direction, for the ciNE65 Movie Makers Awards competition. Inspired by personal interactions with his grandfather, When the Power Goes Out focuses on the familial relationship between a grandfather and a granddaughter, and how a power cut in the home played a role in strengthening their relationship. Through this perceptive film, Ye Feng explores how a grandchild may gain a deeper understanding and empathy for their grandparent despite the years between them.
