mental illness relationships traumaAbout
Hi there! My name is Madeline, and I am currently a junior at NYU's Steinhardt School in the Media, Culture, and Communication program. This past Fall 2022 semester is my first one at NYU, as I transferred from Barnard College after 2 years of study there.
I am from the small resort town of East Hampton, New York, on the East End of Long Island. East Hampton is known for being an artistic hub for some of the most influential artists to develop their craft and present their work over the summer. Artists such as Jackson Pollack and John Steinbeck spent so much time developing their craft in the beautiful Hamptons area.
Having the opportunity to both perform in stage productions from a young age and seeing the best artists from theatre, film/TV, music, and more inspired me to be a part of the media and performing arts industry. Most notably, working at the historic Guild Hall of East Hampton this past summer was what made me interested in other forms of art besides theatre. Being directly involved with events featuring artists of all different mediums and disciplines, from dance to beatboxing and from visual art to interactive media, has motivated my interests in the arts ever further.
I want to work directly with artists in either developing their voices and their craft and/or offering them the resources to do so. I also love creating new works that address the struggles of mental illness, complex relationships, and destigmatizing emotions.
