Ariel McCleese is a feminist horror film director and writer based in Los Angeles.  Her work carves out space in the horror genre for women as agentive subjects rather than passive victims, activating the unique potential of the horror genre to speak to stigmatized themes. An award-winning artist turned director, Ariel brings a distinct visual style to genre filmmaking.  She holds a master’s degree in Fine Art with an emphasis in Critical Theory.
