Andrea Nirmala Widjajanto (she/her) is an Indonesian writer/director based in Toronto, Canada. Her latest short, “Srikandi” premiered at the 46th Toronto International Film Festival, Sundance Film Festival: Asia, and the 40th Vancouver International Film Festival. Most recently, she co-directed a short documentary called “Brown Enough”, now available in TELUS Optik. She is an alumna of Experimental Forest’s 2020 Writing is Rewriting Workshop, the 2021 VIFF Catalyst Mentorship Program, and a 2022 Get Reel Filmmaker Scholarship recipient with her short film "Bawang Merah Bawang Putih" now in pre-production. Her next short film in development, "Sawo Matang" is one of the 2021 NFFTY Pitch Competition winners. Andrea is currently in development for her first feature film among other shorts.
