About

Tyler is a Virginia-based documentary filmmaker born and raised along the Blue Ridge Mountains. He's currently the video producer at the Medical College of Virginia Foundation, a nonprofit with the mission to inspire and steward philanthropy that supports research, education, and patient care at VCU Health in Richmond, VA. Throughout his career, he has helped mission-driven organizations such as the Smithsonian Institution and the American Association for the Advancement of Science to tell important stories. His work as been featured in The Atlantic, The New Yorker, and PBS, and his films have been shown around the world including screenings at Slamdance Film Festival, Big Sky Documentary Film Festival, and Sheffield Doc/Fest.

Tyler earned his M.F.A. in Documentary Film and Video from Stanford University and has taught as an adjunct instructor in filmmaking at Virginia Commonwealth University and Old Dominion University.
