Luis Gutiérrez Arias is a Mexican Cuban filmmaker and video artist whose work explores identity politics, neocolonialism, and the politics of cinema. His work has played at DOK Leipzig, Kasseler Dokfest, Festival Internacional de Cine de Morelia, and the Guanajuato International Film Festival, among others. He currently holds a Lillian Disney Scholarship to pursue an MFA in film and video at the California Institute of the Arts. He lives and works between Southern California and Baja California, Mexico.
