His work often explores relationships between human society and the natural world by incorporating the perspectives of non-humans. His short narrative and nonfiction films have screened at festivals around the world including Planet in Focus and Palm Springs International ShortFest. In 2020, Evan was one of fifteen emerging filmmakers chosen for the Vancouver International Film Festival's Catalyst Mentorship Program. In 2022, he was selected for the RIDM Talent Lab at the Montréal International Documentary Festival. He is currently developing a feature-length documentary with support from the Canada Council for the Arts, The Day’s Work, that explores the spiritual toll of the modern workplace.
Evan lives and works on the unceded territory of the the Musqueam, Squamish, Tsleil-Waututh Nations.
